From the Executive Director:

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

God has continued to provide and lead us during 2007 as Mission Indy continues to:
Equip Christians to Serve Others

Highlights of the year:

First-ever Spring Break Week
In March, 32 participants from Legacy Christian Church, near Kansas City made up the first-ever Spring Break MI week. This was patterned after the summer weeks and was very successful.

Summer Camps - Higher Attendance
We were pleased to have an increase of 21% over the levels of 2006. We praise God for that and we thank Niccole Wilkes for her hard and innovative work meeting and talking with youth ministers around the state.

New Board Members
Diana Ludwig from Chapel Rock Christian Church, and Gordon Miller from Hazelwood Christian Church joined the board in August. We say a big "thanks" to departing board members Jim Giblin and Ron Vincent who both completed two three (3) -year terms.

Jr. High Journey Conference
At the end of October, Mission Indy was the featured ministry for this convention of about 600 students. Jaimie Pope a student at Anderson University and a 2007 Summer Staff came to help us tell the story of what Mission Indy is all about. Praise God, we received over $1200 in offerings!

College Visits
Visits were made to Asbury, Anderson, Cincinnati, Greenville (IL) Lincoln, Johnson, Milligan College, Purdue, Indiana University, St Louis CC and Taylor University (Ft. Wayne) to recruit summer staff.

National Missionary Convention
Cincinnati was host to the National Missionary Convention this year and Mission Indy took advantage of the great opportunity to gain exposure with our churches. Our display booth was double-wide and we made it an open space with lots of seating for folks to come in and talk. Adjacent to our booth was a booth that had pictures of former Mission Indy staff and participants who are now serving on the mission field in New Zealand. We also talked with Shannon, who is headed to Niger.

Summer Program Highlights
North Liberty Christian Church
The first week of the The first week of the Mission Indy Summer Program was hosted by North Liberty CC. Mission Indy is so grateful to North Liberty for the many people who sacrificed time and energy to serve us during the week. Groups from Grace Missionary (Celina, OH) and Rocklane CC led a Vacation Bible School for Englewood Christian Church each morning, and then in the afternoon they worked on houses adjacent to the church and owned by the church. The week also included groups from Connection Point CC and Mt. Tabor CC. Their groups worked with a new partner, Full Gospel Worship Center as well as neighborhood Fellowship Church and Tear Down the Walls Ministry.
Garfield Christian Church - New Host Church!
Mission Indy is so thankful for the folks at Garfield CC who opened their building and their hearts to all of us who stayed with them the 2nd week of our program. Groups from Chapel Rock CC, Hazlewood CC, Princeton Bible Church (IL) and Evangelical Free Church (MN) really enjoyed their time at Garfield CC and the neighborhood where we did projects such as a massive privacy fence, some concrete sidewalks and some garage paintings. Also, the group from Chapel Rock led a VBS at Iglesia Cristiana Westside.

Chapel Rock Christian Church
For the 11th year in a row, Chapel Rock CC hosted the 3rd week of Mission Indy. Groups from Eastside CC (Jeffersonville, IN), Cumberland CC and Community Church at Murphy's Landing (Southport) worked with the day camp at Damar Homes, while the group from Pine Village CC worked in the Englewood area. Projects included painting and concrete work, as well as some minor carpentry.

Englewood Christian Church
For the 6th year in a row, the good folks at Englewood have opened their building and their hearts to Mission Indy, and it has become a popular week of the year for the participating groups. Clermont CC, Erie Christian Church, Florissant CC, Gateway CC (WV) and Southern Heights (Anderson) were the churches represented. The groups from Florissant and Erie did a fine job leading a VBS at West Park CC that included over a 100 kids from Hawthorne Community Center. In the afternoons these groups worked on houses of West Park people. The other groups worked on projects for Tear Down the Walls Ministry and Englewood CDC.
